Riding lessons for kids and adults

Dębogóra Ranch is a western riding school about 15 minutes' drive from Poznań city centre. We teach the western way: reins in one hand, a deep comfortable saddle, and a partnership built on light signals and trust.

  • Kids from around 4–5 years old — on our calmest horses, on a lunge line at first.
  • Adults of any age — first-timers and returning riders alike.
  • Small groups or one-on-one — the horse and the pace are matched to the rider.
  • Indoor arena — lessons all year round, whatever the weather.

Your first ride, step by step

  1. Welcome and helmet fitting (10 min)

A short safety briefing and a hello to your horse from the ground. Helmets are provided free of charge.

  2. Groundwork and grooming (10–15 min)

You brush and saddle the horse with your instructor's help — trust is built on the ground first.

  3. Ride on a lunge line (30–35 min)

The instructor guides the horse on a long line while you learn seat, balance and first signals — at a walk, then a trot when you're ready.

  4. Say thank you to your horse (5 min)

A carrot for your new partner, a photo, and a plan for next steps.

What to wear

  • Long, stretchy trousers — leggings or jeans without thick inner seams
  • Flat-soled shoes — no sandals
  • Layers — it can be cooler at the ranch than in town

What to bring

  • Water — a must in summer
  • An apple or a carrot for the horse (ask the instructor first)
  • A little spare time — arrive about 15 minutes early

Trails are for independent riders confident at a walk, trot and canter. Not there yet? That's what lessons are for — many of our riders make the forest their goal.
